New Cycles

So here we's June 1 - New Moon - new beginnings...I'm so ready for it!

Yesterday I just felt sort of lost, my first day at home officially "on notice." Today was a much better day than my first day, I had more to do today and I had drive and focus: getting ready and prepared for tomorrow :)

I feel good :)

In OTHER news, I went ahead and picked my next meet! I've allowed for plenty of time to slowly return to training, plenty of time to slowly work back up to where I sort of "left off" or get back to where I was, and still more time to try to make some strength gains :) It'ss the first weekend in November - the USPA Raw World Championship. Honestly I think they try to name as many meets "championships" as they possibly can, hahah. As far as i can tell all you have to do to lift at this championship event is sign-up ;) But anyway - it SOUNDS big and important! I'm really happy to have it on the schedule..or at least in my sights to add to the schedule.

Movin on...

  1. As a reminder, here's something a good friend of mine (that would be you!) wrote on January 1 and kept posting regularly as the intro for an ongoing series of discussion threads. It seems appropriate to add it to this post. May this be the start of another good year for you.

I heard a song on New Years Eve where part of the lyrics got me thinking about New Years, resolutions, new beginnings...the song was by the Foo Fighters and the song was "Times Like These" and the lyrics go:

I am a new day rising
    I'm a brand new sky
To hang the stars upon tonight

New Years Eve is almost always considered the new day rising, a time when the "reset" button gets pushed - and that is a beautiful thing. But the thing that's even better, and the thing that often gets overlooked is that EVERY day is the new day rising, and EVERY tomorrow is the brand new sky. That means endless chances to change, to get back up and try again, to push on, endless chances to live and laugh and love, again.

This year, resolve to keep on resolving. Look forward, get back up one more time, ask for help if you need it, forgive yourself, empower yourself! Every day. No matter what.

Make this your year of new days, make every day your brand new sky and leave the past where it belongs because you never know what that brand new sky will bring you when you do.

Cheers to this new year of new days ahead!

  2. Thank you Robyn, this brought a big smile to my day :)
